About
Seren Emily Ozmen is a bilingual dual national from the United Kingdom and Turkey, with an architectural journey shaped by a multicultural background. Growing up on the southwest coast of Turkey, a region known for its tourism, a strong interest in travel and diverse cultures developed, leading to exploration of 15 countries. These experiences have provided valuable insights into architecture and the built environment.

The academic journey in architecture began at Final International University in Kyrenia, Cyprus, where studies in English laid the foundation in ergonomic and concept design. This was followed by a transfer to Bursa Uludag University in Turkey, where studies continued in Turkish, offering a deeper understanding of architecture from a cross-cultural perspective.

Educational experience was gained through academic projects in both Turkey and Cyprus, focusing on villa designs and a university complex. These projects reinforced the importance of balancing functionality and aesthetics in architectural design, a principle that continues to guide the design approach.

Currently enrolled in the Master of Architecture program at Leeds Beckett University, Seren holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Bursa Uludag University. With over five years of academic study, the focus is on creating spaces that are both functional and visually engaging, drawing from both local and global cultural contexts.

Through ongoing academic development, there is a continued exploration of the intersections between architecture, culture, design, and the role of film in shaping the built environment and everyday life.
